About Me

My photo
I am a native of Arkansas, but now reside in Georgia. I love the Razorbacks. I love the south. I love sitting on the screened in porch sippin' lemonade. I love every shade of lipgloss on earth. I love bright colors. I love laying in the hammock listening to the birds and in the same breath I am terrified of birds! I love pedicures with cajun shrimp nail polish in the summer. I love listening to babies laugh. I love the smell of laundry detergent. This blog is all about cooking, crafts, decorating, my journey to getting into shape, and anything else I can think of! Thanks for stopping by!

Local Business of the Month {Mirko Pasta}

The first time my husband and went to Mirko, we were blown away. The food is simply amazing. We spent some time in Italy over the summer and this is the first place that we have found that comes close to the food there. To tell you the truth, if I closed my eyes it would be like I was back in Italy!

When you walk in you will notice to your left bags of flour. Mirko makes their pasta fresh everyday and you can tell. To the left you will notice the pasta tray. This tray shows the short pastas, long pastas, and raviolis to choose from. Once you get to your table they immediately bring out the softest hot rolls I have ever had! They could bring you butter or olive oil to dip them in, but oh no, they bring you a white bean dip. It is smooth and delicious!

The menu is a concept I have never seen. You buy your pasta and then your sauce. This way you can mix and match what you like. They also have a great selection of appetizers, salads, main entrees and of course dessert. I was delighted to see the Nuttella Crepe as a selection. We consumed a lot of those while in Italy!

They have a full bar with a great wine list. Their sangria is also amazing.

This is a very kid friendly place as well. I have taken my 3 year old niece there and she loves the tri-colored pasta with alfredo. Speaking of alfredo, I hate it. This place has the only alfredo sauce that I have ever tried and went back for another bite. It is so good! Ok, back to the kids! They have a kids menu and crayons with a coloring sheets to keep them entertained!

Monday night is free pasta night. Order a drink and sauce and get a short or long pasta for free. You can't beat that!

I highly recommend that you go check it out. If you don't live in Roswell, check out one of their other locations. If you end up going to Roswell, tell Kathy, the owner, that I sent you! :)
