About Me

My photo
I am a native of Arkansas, but now reside in Georgia. I love the Razorbacks. I love the south. I love sitting on the screened in porch sippin' lemonade. I love every shade of lipgloss on earth. I love bright colors. I love laying in the hammock listening to the birds and in the same breath I am terrified of birds! I love pedicures with cajun shrimp nail polish in the summer. I love listening to babies laugh. I love the smell of laundry detergent. This blog is all about cooking, crafts, decorating, my journey to getting into shape, and anything else I can think of! Thanks for stopping by!

Cassady Family Sneak Peeks {Chicago, IL Photographer}

I had a great day with the Cassady Family! I work with Danyelle and she had been asking me to come to Chicago and take pictures of her family and I finally got the opportunity. We did this session at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Of course the kids enjoyed that! :) These kids are so darn sweet. When I left, Roy came right up and hugged me and I even got a kiss on the cheek from Aubrey! Sweet as can be!

My First Boudoir Session

I did a session with Amber this weekend in Chicago. She asked me to take some boudoir style photos as well. I was pretty excited because I had never done this before. She was able to get us a room at the W on Lakeshore which was great because there were no buildings blocking the light coming in. I think she looks AMAZING!!! She is a huge Bears fan so of course we had to get a few of her with her jersey!

Samir and Nisreen's Baby on Board {Marietta, GA Maternity Photographer}

So yesterday I met one of the most beautiful couples I have ever seen, Samir and Nisreen Hallab. Nisreen is 8 months pregnant and she is still tiny! She has the cutest little basketball sticking out of her belly. I am sure she is the envy of every pregnant woman! Tarek Adam Hallab is due on October 8th and I can't wait to meet him and photograph his beautiful face. Please enjoy a few sneak peeks from yesterday's session. Happy Birthday Emily

3 years ago today my niece, Emily Brooke, was brought into this world. It was one of the happiest days of my life. My sister lived 750 miles away so unfortunately I couldn't be there. So, they put me on speaker phone in the hospital room so I could hear everything. That first cry was the best sound I have ever heard and I will never forget it. Emily is the most amazing little girl I have ever been around. She is the one who made me realize I had a love for photography. The first picture of her below was taken at 2 weeks old and it was the first "photo shoot" I had ever done. It was done with a canon power shot, before I even had a real camera! I loved taking pictures of her so much, I started taking more and more and it led me to where I am today. Thanks Emily Brooke! You bring more joy to my life than you will ever know.

Local Business of the Month {Mirko Pasta}

The first time my husband and went to Mirko, we were blown away. The food is simply amazing. We spent some time in Italy over the summer and this is the first place that we have found that comes close to the food there. To tell you the truth, if I closed my eyes it would be like I was back in Italy!

When you walk in you will notice to your left bags of flour. Mirko makes their pasta fresh everyday and you can tell. To the left you will notice the pasta tray. This tray shows the short pastas, long pastas, and raviolis to choose from. Once you get to your table they immediately bring out the softest hot rolls I have ever had! They could bring you butter or olive oil to dip them in, but oh no, they bring you a white bean dip. It is smooth and delicious!

The menu is a concept I have never seen. You buy your pasta and then your sauce. This way you can mix and match what you like. They also have a great selection of appetizers, salads, main entrees and of course dessert. I was delighted to see the Nuttella Crepe as a selection. We consumed a lot of those while in Italy!

They have a full bar with a great wine list. Their sangria is also amazing.

This is a very kid friendly place as well. I have taken my 3 year old niece there and she loves the tri-colored pasta with alfredo. Speaking of alfredo, I hate it. This place has the only alfredo sauce that I have ever tried and went back for another bite. It is so good! Ok, back to the kids! They have a kids menu and crayons with a coloring sheets to keep them entertained!

Monday night is free pasta night. Order a drink and sauce and get a short or long pasta for free. You can't beat that!

I highly recommend that you go check it out. If you don't live in Roswell, check out one of their other locations. If you end up going to Roswell, tell Kathy, the owner, that I sent you! :)
